Entering First-Year Students
There is no separate application for incoming first-year students. All first-year students are reviewed for admission to the University Honors Program when they apply to Temple University. Reviews continue on a rolling basis throughout the admissions cycle. You will be notified of acceptance to the Honors Program on TUPortal.
We perform a holistic review of students, which includes a review of students' transcript, standardized test scores, extra-curricular activities, and personal statement. If you have any questions regarding your admission to the Honors Program please use the Honors Admissions Inquiry form below.
Although we do not have strict cut-off scores for admission, we report averages to give you a sense of how competitive our class is. For Fall 2018, the average SAT for Honors students was 1460/1600 (includes converted ACT scores) and average unweighted high-school GPA is 3.95/4.0.
Honors does not review or award merit scholarships. Please visit the Temple University Undergraduate Admissions Page for more information regarding cost and aid.
