Mission Statement: We seek to train mentors who will build and foster meaningful relationships with students new to Temple Honors and who will act as resources and guides in helping students transition to the Honors community, connect to campus and city resources, and develop skills for their current and future success.
An important component of the Honors community is the students who lend their energy, talent, and wisdom to help incoming Honors freshmen and transfer students thrive in their new surroundings. The Honors Peer Mentoring Network is an opportunity for upper-level students to give back to new Honors students in myriad ways. Peer mentors complete a semester-long training course that focuses on resource referrals, communication skills, and student development theory. They also meet regularly with new Honors students to help them adjust to and succeed in college coursework, develop time management and academic success skills, and connect them with Temple and Philadelphia resources. For more information about applying to become a member of the Honors Peer Mentoring Network, contact Jackie (email@example.com).
Below, you'll find a little information about our current Honors Peer Mentors (HPMs)--what they study, where they're from, and how they can help you thrive at Temple and in Honors. If you would like to work with one of our HPMs, feel free to shoot them an email!
