Adrianna Fisher '22
Hi everyone! My name is Adrianna Fisher (she/her) and I am a senior Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences major from Levittown, PA working to also obtain a certificate in ASL and Diversity and Inclusion. I studied music and the human voice for almost 8 years prior to college, and this led me to fall in love with Speech Therapy. Outside of class, I am the Co-President of NSSLHA (the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association). I also work as a research assistant in the First Language Foundations Lab where we research executive functioning in Deaf and Hard of Hearing children as compared to Hearing children in relationship to their mode of communication. In the Spring, I will be completing an honors thesis under the direction of Dr. Matthew Hall about the relationship between coursework in Communication Sciences and Disorders and the attitudes surrounding Deaf culture and Audism. I love working with kids, and I currently babysit for four different families with kiddos (both neurotypical and neurodivergent) aged 2-8 throughout the city. For four semesters, I worked with the Institute on Disabilities to support students with intellectual disabilities in navigating the college experience in the same way as any other student. I am also extremely passionate about personal fitness, so I work for Campus Recreation at Temple's fitness facilities. On a more personal note, I love music of all genres (but Miss Taylor Allison Swift has my heart forever <3) and I performed in many musical ensembles for many years before college. I sing and play piano, and I am taking a vocal jazz class this spring! I love to go to concerts in the city whenever I can, and from the day I got vaccinated, I have been going to as many concerts as my wallet can handle. The exploratory opportunities in Philadelphia along with the fantastic Honors advisors and students made choosing Temple easier than ever. I look forward to meeting all of you! Feel free to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions before or after your visit!
